I was inspired to paint this view point of Denali a few months after I summited Denali with my best friend in May of 2025. The original was painted from a reference photo by Denali climbing ranger Chrissie Oken. I painted the image over the top of Bradford Washburn’s iconic map of Denali. The mountain is situated in a way to still reveal the West buttress route that myself and many others have climbed.
