“Milo Surf Boat” acrylic on nautical chart of the Gulf of Alaska, originally 16 × 20 inches.
I have had the fortune to go out on the Milo surf boat to surf and splitboard on multiple occasions. Each trip has been an incredible experience. Originally built to withstand the rigors of fishing the North Pacific Ocean, the M/V Milo is a 58′ Alaskan “limit” Seiner design. The local Alaskan owners Mike and Wendy McCune began the process of relocating the former fishing vessel from the San Francisco Bay area to Homer, Alaska in December of 2009. Three and a half years into it’s restoration and re-fitting, the Milo is ready to be the platform for your great Alaskan Adventure whether is a surf trip, a SUP tour, a working expedition, the options are endless.
