I grew up at the base of the Butte in Palmer, Alaska, just a few miles away from the base of Pioneer Peak. Pioneer Peak is my most favorite mountain in the world. Growing up, it loomed over me, majestic and fierce, inspiring my deep of love for mountains that grow more and more with each passing year.
